Our Heritage
Belling Through The Decades
One Monday morning in August 1912, engineer Charles Belling set up his own business with the help of two friends in an empty shed in Lancaster Road, Enfield. Starting with nothing, Belling and friends made their own benches and stools before filling the new workshop with tools. Innovation after innovation fueled the company’s growth, with Belling’s engineering prowess being called upon during both World Wars to provide cooking solutions to British families. When the business was started, less than 10% of the population owned a cooker. Charles Belling believed passionately that his products should not just be innovative, but at accessible price points – a value that we still hold to this day.
