Laundry FAQs

‏‏‎ ‎

  • For better weight distribution, please try to wash full loads, with a mixture of large and small items.
  • Please avoid washing single items by themselves, if possible, especially bath mats and duvet covers which can roll up into a ball and cause weight imbalance in the drum.
  • Please select the highest suitable spin speed for the programme chosen.
  • Please clean the drain filter in the bottom-right corner of the machine.

  • After loading the drum, please close the door firmly.
  • Check the water inlet stopcock tap supplying the washing machine is fully open.
  • If possible, check that the water inlet hose is not kinked or blocked and that the filter at the machine end of the inlet hose is not blocked with limescale deposits.
  • Check that there is good water pressure in the kitchen/utility room by asking your water supplier for advice.

  • Please check that the drain filter (in the bottom-right-hand corner of the machine) is clean and clear of obstructions.
  • If possible, please check the location of the drain hose – it should be positioned above floor level, but not more than 1 metre above floor level at any point.
  • If possible, please check that the drain hose is not bent or kinked.
  • Do not use drain hose extensions totalling more than 4 metres from the machine.
  • If draining into a standpipe, do not push the drain hose too far down.
  • If draining into the waste trap under the sink, check that the installer has removed the blanking plate from the spigot arm connection.
