"Carrots help me see in the dark and give me vitamin C. Spaghetti is for carbohydrates and gives me energy. Potatoes are carbohydrates - it keeps me full and gives me energy. Peas are a good source of protein which is good for my immune system and muscles. Tomato sauce on pasta/spaghetti has antioxidants that are good for my skin. I like this meal because it's healthy and best of all it's yummy too!"
"At our school, we do not have the facilities to have hot dinners so children have packed lunches everyday. Therefore, pupils especially enjoy cooking and nutrition lessons in DT in which they design, make and evaluate different foods, for example in Year 4 we make healthy pizzas. However, cooking these can be an issue because of the unreliability of the portable ovens we have in school and we would benefit from improved cooking equipment such as this."
