Homemade Honeycomb

Method

Homemade honeycomb looks very impressive plus it’s fun to make and absolutely delicious. Cover in chocolate for a homemade sweet treat that everyone will love.

  1. Line a 1-inch baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Pop the sugar, water and golden syrup in a medium-sized pan.
  3. Heat and stir the mixture until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Increase the heat for 5 minutes so the mixture starts to bubble until it turns a caramel colour. Keep a loose eye on to ensure it doesn’t burn, if you have a sugar thermometer you're looking for 150c.
  5. Remove from the heat and add the bicarbonate of soda. Fold in carefully so it bubbles a little.
  6. Now pour the mixture into the tray and leave to set.
  7. Once set you can drizzle over some chocolate, set again then break into pieces.
