Flat Bread Pizzas

Method

A fantastic recipe that uses only 2 ingredients for the dough. The toppings are completely up to you! Not only can the kids have some fun in the kitchen, it's a great way of sneaking some extra veggies onto their plates.

You can even try making faces with the pizzas using your various toppings - see how many different styles you can come up with.

Topping suggestions:

- Sliced ham

- Chicken

- Pepperoni

- Mushrooms

- Pineapple

- Peppers

- Sweetcorn

- Cherry tomatoes

 

1. In a large bowl, add the self-raising flour and water and mix into a dough. Don't overwork the mixture, as it prevents the self-raising flour from working.

2. Tear off 4 balls of dough and flatten on a floured surface using the palm of your hand until 1cm thick. Don't worry if they aren't perfectly round.

3. Please each pizza base onto a floured baking tray. Evenly spoon on the tomato puree and add your chosen toppings. Top with a generous sprinkle of cheese and put the tray straight into the oven.

4. Cook for 20 minutes, until they have risen and are bubbling on top.

Enjoy hot or cold!

  • 250g self-raising flour

  • 120ml water

  • A pinch of dried herbs (optional)

  • Tomato puree

  • 250g grated cheese (use half-fat for a healthier option)
