Healthy Chilli Cheese Dogs


We've given Hawkeye's family BBQ from Avengers: Endgame a twist with spicy-as-you-like chilli and sour cream.

  1. Fry the onion and garlic in the oil for 5 minutes or until soft. Add the mince and cook for 6-7 minutes, or until browned.
  2. Stir in the seasoning and tomato purée, and fry for 1 minute. Add the beans and 100ml water, and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer gently for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally Remove the lid and cook for 5 minutes more.
  3. Preheat the grill and cook the sausages for 10-12 minutes. Split each baguette and toast, cut-side down.
  4. Put 2 sausages in each baguette, top with the chilli, sour cream, cheese, sliced red chilli (if desired) and coriander.

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed

  • 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil

  • 250g lean mince

  • 2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (optional)

  • 1 red chilli, chopped and sliced (optional)

  • 4 tablespoon tomato purée

  • 1 can of kidney beans

  • 12 sausages or hot dogs

  • 6 baguettes

  • 4 tablespoon sour cream

  • 60g mature half-fat cheddar cheese, grated

  • Coriander, to serve
